DesignTalks è il ciclo di incontri con designer internazionali organizzato dalla Scuola Politecnica di Design per far conoscere alcune delle direzioni di ricerca più interessanti nell’ambito del design contemporaneo. Integrazione tra media diversi, tra progetto e tecnologia, tra sperimentazione e professione saranno al centro degli incontri che si svolgeranno fino a luglio 2008. Dopo gli incontri con Etienne Mineur, Alberto Bianda di theredbox e Mikulas Machacek di Studio Najbrt, la serie prosegue con Dimitri Bruni di Norm (5 giugno).

Special guest for the next DesignTalks! conference on Wednesday, May 28th at 6.30 p.m. is Erik Kessels, cofounder and creative director of KesselsKramer (NL). The conference is open to the general public; Kessels will be introduced by Sivia Sfligiotti, SPD.
The Dutch advertising agency, internationally renowned for its radical and often provocative approach that is leaving a strong mark on contemporary communication culture. Kessels Kramer’s portfolio brings together numerous high-profile clients including Diesel, Audi, Heineken, Nike, Levis, Fila, the English TV Channel-5, the singer Tom Waits and the Dutch postal service beside a bunch of niche brands such as the Hans Brinker Budget Hotel with its award winning campaigns. Among their complementary projects, they recently launched Do, a brand featuring products thought out to give voice to the consumers’ real needs. KesselsKramer is also a publishing house specializing on visual communication and photography in particular.

Design Talks is the series of lectures promoted every year by SPD to explore the most interesting research trends in contemporary design ranging from graphics and multimedia to product design and architecture. After Etienne Mineur, theredbox and Studio Najbrt, The next DesignTalks guest will be Dimitri Bruni from the world famous Swiss graphic design firm Norm on June 5th at 18.30. Other invited lctures scheduled until July 2008: Ross Lovegrove, Fernando and Humberto Campana, Matali Crasset and Martì Guixé.
