Il designer Willem Deridder, sostiene che ci sia una mancanza di identità causata dal modo di pensare di massa e che chiamare una mucca Gretha o Bertha non sia più una cosa da fare. Lavorando con dei materiali naturali come la pelle, il designer crea delle sedute dal nome “Nothing to hide” che prendono di volta in volta forme differenti grazie all’elasticità della copertura usata, nonostante utilizzino processi industriali. Questo concetto è stato già molte volte adottato dal nostro genio Gaetano Pesce anche se in maniera diversa, giusto per ricordarlo.

Loss of identity caused by a mass product thinking. Naming a cow Gretha or Bertha is no longer a common thing to do. The name is replaced by just a yellow label with a number. An animal with its own character traits turned into a mass product without identity. It is almost forgotten that leather is (still) a product of nature. To design, starting from the (present-day) lack of identity of the leather, only by using its own, forgotten character traits. A production method, where the natural characteristics of leather plays the leading part in the creation of the product. A set of stools made of identical leather covers with the characteristics of the leather, which offer the possibility to adapt to a multiplicity of moulds. The stools are perfectly shaped and constructed by their own nature. This unique cooperation between mass production and nature symbolizing the forgotten natural character traits in this highly developed industrial world .
